South African tombstone usually consists of Headstone, Foot Piece, Ledger and Curb Stone. Headstone is used to print the names of the deceased with the applicable dates and message from the family. Foot piece is placed at the bottom of the headstone and also can be used to write the surname or special message. Ledger is a solid piece of granite, neatly polished and placed on the top of the curbs. The grave is covered by a full frame and slab. Messages may be written on the slabs, which add to the prestige look of memorial. The ledger can be replaced with white chips. Curb stone is used to raise the ledger and round off the tombstone.
Common stone: Black, Multicolor Red, G654, Indian Red etc.
