Australian Monuments Introduction

Australian style monuments can be divided into three types: lawn monuments, single monuments and double monuments.
Lawn monuments
A lawn monument is a monument that is placed at the head of a grave and consists of two pieces, a base stone and then a headstone placed onto it.
Single Monuments
A single monument is a monument that is placed over the whole grave and generally consists of an ashler, kerb surround, a ledger, a base stone and then a headstone placed onto the base stone.
Double Monuments
Double monument is a monument that is placed over two graves and generally consists of an ashler, kerb surround, a ledger, a base stone and then a headstone placed onto the base stone.
